Confirmed Team: No Džeko, De Jong. Kolarov on the left wing!

5 Feb

Roberto Mancini has made a number of changes from the side which drew with Birmingham. There is no Nigel de Jong or Micah Richards, with Jerome Boateng and Pablo Zabaleta the full-backs. Aleks Kolarov will start on the left wing, with James Milner on the right. Edin Džeko is on the bench, alongside Abdul Razak, an eighteen year old Ivorian midfielder.

Here is the side in full:

                                                     Hart

Boateng              K. Touré                 Kompany                  Zabaleta

Milner                 Y. Touré                   Barry                        Kolarov

                                                    Silva

                                                   Tévez

Subs: Given, Lescott, Vieira, SWP, Razak, Džeko, Jo

    An interesting team selection.

Obviously, Mr Mancini seems to think that Mr E. Džeko is of the same standard as Jo – for no other reason that comes to me would Džeko be on the bench.

Don’t like Yaya. Not even as a water boy. His attitude is generally poor and probably I could do a better job (a long shot I know!).

Also, it is nice to see the days of sportsmen applying themselves in numerous fields and it must be a great honour for Mr Razak to follow in the footsteps of IT Botham, Arnie Sidebottom and the great Sir Geoff Hurst (2 innings for Essex vs Lancashire – scored 0 runs).

Lots of VFAB blog promotion going on this afternoon at Sportcity by a close male relative of yours! Also a very impressive execution of the Poznan by them!

Love the blog – will check out regularly. Keep up the good work.

On the same line as Ricky…I thought he was a cricketer too! I left the minute before he came on too so never got to see him! C is now the new mascot having finally seen us win! She’s welcome again now! Haha! Did you see Kolarovs effort tipped onto the bar…one word…WOW! He played very well at left wing and Zaba looked good behind him. I’d keep it like that, but fear Zaba will make way for De Jong for the derby, meaning Kolarov will play LB and get destroyed by Nani…although havign said that, Aleks is still my favourite player and he was insane yesterday, his best game by far x

Nope, I think we’ll keep this formation for the derby. Zaba to contain Nani (like he did at our place) with Kolarov just in front. NDJ will 100% start, probs for Milner, but I would like to see Yaya dropped. And also, if Richards is fit, he could play.

Yes, but how many games has “C” seen us emerge not victorious?

Apart from Notts County, which other game did C go to?

            Derby at our place, 0-0!
